* AELVC Program: Support Access to Education and Leadership Building of Vulnerables Children

AELVC Program 2019-2020

For the 2019-2020 school year, the ASLEV program was held in BURUNDI and targeted around 75 vulnerable children in the city of Bujumbura and suburbs, including those from marginalized communities such as Batwa and albinos, some of whose profiles are presented below. In total, 21 children out of school were effectively able to attend school thanks to the support of the program, and the other children received various school materials.

The program was implemented with one of our locals partners, the CSO EPDSED (Ensemble Pour Promouvoir le Développement Socio-Economique Durable).

The 2019-2020 budget was CAD $ 11,575, funded with the organization own funds, of which approximately 75% were allocated to activities contributing directly to the access to education of beneficiary children (including the payment of annual school fees of $ 40 per child, the supply of school kits, etc.).

The remaining funds was used for the capacity building activities on Children's rights for beneficiaries in target schools, as well as the program management, coordination and monitoring.
